The government have been investigating the presence of RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) in buildings over the last few months. It is a lightweight form of concrete used in roof, floor, cladding and wall construction in the UK from the mid-1950s to the mid-1980. 

As a Multi Academy Trust the responsibility lies with us to ensure that our buildings are safe. 

We completed our own visual inspections and then commissioned surveys with Barker Associates surveyors. No RAAC has been identified which means no additional surveys were put in place by the DfE with the exception of one school setting, which subsequently came back with no identification of RAAC. Both the DfE and the Diocese have these reports. (Nathalie Young, Head of Operations, OLICAT Schools) 

RAAC Inspection surveys were commissioned and we would like to confirm and reassure with the information that we have been provided with, that there is no RAAC present on site. All government returns have been submitted and updated and the Diocese of Northampton have a copy of these reports. 

We will continue to assess the situation across our sites and adhere to any further DFE guidance and directives as they are received.
