This year as always in the first full week of the school year for all our Catholic Schools we mark Education Sunday and Education Week. This is a week to call to mind the scripture underpinning from the Gospel of St Matthew “Where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them” (Matthew 18:20)
This is a time to be proud of our schools as we stand distinctive as a beacon of hope for the Church of the future. Our school days, some more distant than others are a time not just for successful exams but also a time when we are formed in prayer and spirituality so that we can respond to the call to holiness in our Baptism.
We are not alone as a community but, we reach out to others to connect with the hearts of others who strive for justice and peace in our world. This week is a time to celebrate our moorings deep in the spirit of God and to acknowledge that when we gather his presence is profoundly there.
Partnership with our Parishes in the Diocese of Northampton
Our Churches too are so much a part of Education Week and Sunday. As Catholic Schools we rely on the ongoing prayer of the faithful in our Parishes.
To all who pray with and for us we are enormously grateful. We thank you for your ongoing support and the legacy over the years that you have contributed to our schools so that children and young people can grow in faith. A sincere thank you from all who work in Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Academy Trust.
We are proud to be at the heart of our local Parish communities and we warmly invite you to find out more about volunteering opportunities within our family of OLICAT Schools across Bedford and Northamptonshire:
